MY MINI A Brief Introduction
|
My Mini was given to
me as a Christmas present from my parents in 2001, and ever since then I have
been taking it to different events each year. It doesn't get used much in the
week as both myself and my partner commute into London on public transport.
This keeps the mileage (and wear-and-tear) to a minimum, and over the three
years I've owned it the Mini has been very reliable and cheap to run. In 2002
it suffered from a warped cylinder head but since sourcing a replacement it's
been as good as gold. In 2003 it needed some oversills welding on because of
rust in order to pass its MOT. However, 2004 was a very good year and the car
had only minor problems including a worn fanbelt, a dead battery and a
knackered rear wheel cylinder. It even completed it's first Riviera Run
without incident. |

As you can see below
the changes I've made to the car since acquiring it are mainly cosmetic and
most have been cheap to do. I do have a grander plan for my car (which is top
secret) but until I can afford several thousand pounds for the work I'll keep
it as it is and only make improvements as I go. |
