WELCOME

Welcome to Paul's Webspace. As you've probably already guessed my name is Paul and I set up this website to share my Mini obsession with the rest of the world. Between 2004 and 2006 the site was known as number15, but from now on we're a dot-com site. With the recent change of address I've tried to improve a few things (such as the navigation menu) and have also added a few new pages that didn't exist before. PLEASE NOTE: This site has been designed for viewing at 1024x768 screen resolution.

ABOUT ME

I was born in 1976 and I live in a town called Romford, in the London Borough of Havering. I've lived here all of my life and at present I'm renting a house with my wife, whilst we save our pennies for a house of our own.

Me Where is Havering? Andrew

I have a younger brother called Andrew who lives quite local to me, and he has owned three Minis during the last few years - one that was a completely rusty heap and got traded in for a Ford Fiesta, one called 'Snotty' which was a racing green 1340cc monster with 13" wheels and the far more sedate 'Pickle' which is a beige 998cc Clubman estate and is his current 'second car'. Recently, he's picked up a 1275 Metro engine to go in the estate so It'll be interesting to see how this progresses. Finally, our dad has also joined the fun and has a 1275 Rover Mini Mayfair.

My interest in Minis began when I was ferried around in one as a child. At the time my mum had a yellowy-green Clubman and I distinctly remember its black vinyl interior. When I was old enough to learn to drive myself I took lessons with a local instructor who had a white 'Italian Job' special edition Mini with dual controls, but had to stop again after being formally diagnosed with epilepsy. It took almost a decade of annual checks and dosage changes to get my medication right but in September 2003 I finally began lessons again with a local school - in a Corsa. Since then I haven't looked back. I passed my theory test in May 2004 and my practical test a few days before Christmas!

Not being able to drive didn't dampen my enthusiasm for Britain's favourite car, and if anything I've become more obsessed not less! As well as collecting both MiniWorld and Mini Magazine since 1994 I also joined a local club, attended a couple of events each year and immersed myself in the massive Mini web-culture that's grown over recent years.

In December 2001 I was given a white Mini City from my parents and my partner and I have driven it ever since. She'd had two Metros before (one which took us to the very first Mini In The Park) so she was familiar with the concept of the small car, and she's also a very competent driver. That's fine by me because I'm quite happy in the passenger seat whenever I can get away with it - less stress.

As well as Minis I am also interested in music, films, design, and cycling.
